AKTA explorer vs HPLC

How can I know the different of both?  According to paper,I will purify interleukin protein and I must use gel-filtration, ion-exchange and Reverse phase HPLC  and how to selct the system to purify?
pls advise

AKTA system is for low pressure chromatography. The pressure of HPLC system can be higher. It depends on what kind of column you chose.
