Hi,
Could someone help me out with this. I want to know if reamplfication of PCR products will affect the mutational studies carried out later on these products. I need to reamplify because I have very little initial DNA templete.

Hi

Potentially there is an issue with repetitive amplification of PCR products, although this depends on the length of the product as to the likelihood of a mutation occuring in the PCR.  If you are concerned about this you can get polymerases, such as Pfu, which have proofreading capability.

Hi,
Thanks very much.  Pfu would be better, why take chances.
