Question regarding sickle cell anemia:

I understand that this disease results from substitution of valine from the normal glutamic acid residue at a specific site in one of the polypeptide chains that compomrise hemoglobin. Question arises if 'leucine' or 'aspartic acid' was mutated instead of 'valine'. What are the effects.
