I forgot pretreating the dialysis membrane ! How do this error affect my dialysis results? Can anybody tell me the function of pretreation?

I know of a instance where someone forgot to remove the dialysis storage solution from the membrane and got a slight decrease in protein activity. There wasn't much contamination due to multiple buffer exchanges and the large volume of dialysis buffer used. If you are dialyzing with small volumes infrequently you may have some contamination
