how do the environmental factors affect the growth of microbes in a lab.

This question is far too broad to answer.
For example temperature, pH, oxygen, nutrient availability, rotation speed of a shaker etc. all have strong influence on bacterial growth. For some bacteria more, for some less.

Could you be more specific to what you actually want to know?
