Hi, I am just wondering if anyone knows if an ELISA is a biosensor or not?

I am struggling to answer the following question:

 

State the general advantages and disadvantages of a biosensor compared to conventional laboratory diagnostics.

 

I was going to use the ELISA pregnancy blood test for the lab diagnostic and then say how biosensor pregnancy test are actually much better etc being portable, more specific cheaper etc. 

 

 

Anyone have any other suggestions of what I can also put?

I think you need to look up what the definition of a biosensor is and how an ELISA works, then tell us whether you think ELISA is a biosensor or merely a biochemical reaction detected by a machine.
