Hi,

I was extracting DNA from a kit  to run Taqman qPCR for genotyping (SNP) detection. I just realised that the kit I used is for for viral RNA extraction and does not designed to separate viral RNA from DNA. So this  implies my eulant has RNA and DNA contamination? I was using human plasma for extraction.

Does presence of RNA could be affecting the qPCR run, even though the taqman probes are specific to  DNA?
