Hi,

Why do most biology professors refer to the organelles inside cell that help with Mitosis/Meiosis and centrioles, instead of centrosomes? I believe the centrosome is the overall organelle, while centroles are the two parts of the organelle. Just curious.

Thanks.

the best way to get an answer to this question would be to ask the professor

talent does what it can
genius does what it must
i used to do what i got paid to do

I meant anyone who wrote things about cell biology. I don't actually have a professor.

In that case, maybe it?s because the centriole is the functional part of the centrosome

talent does what it can
genius does what it must
i used to do what i got paid to do
