Hello to everyone,

I'm new in this group,

I have this question: I cultured a cancer cell line (HCC1143) using a medium with 10% bovine serum, however on ATCC is reported to use 10% of fetal calf serum (FCS). I did it by mistake, however cells grew as normal and I noticed no particular issues, subsequently I performed RNA-seq before I noticed the mistake. Does anyone knows how much this can affect the results?

In your opinin, can I not be worried since cell grew up normally?

As I now switch to FCS for my other cancer cell line, the results could be comparable with this cell line?

I hope in your suggestion. Thank you in advance.

Claudio.
