Dear all,

I am currently conducting an experiment to know the difference of biofilm formation or microbe adhesion in different plastic material surfaces. However, when we were culturing the sessile biofilm, we were frustrated with the pink microbial contamination that grew on the BCYEα agar that should only allow L. pneumophila to grow.

The BCYEα agar was distributed after treated by Autoclave sterilization, and all equipment used for sampling sessile cells were either sterilized or disinfected (with UV, 30 min).

Does anyone know what this kind of microbe is? We were suspecting some kind of fungus, but with deep doubt.

Sincerely,

Aaron
