My thermocycler has a ramp rate of 5C/sec. I have a PCR program that needs to go from 55*C to 72*C, at a ramp rate of 1C/sec. The problem is the thermocycler ramp rate is programmed as %. I assume that 5C/sec = 100%. If I need to move up 17*C at a ramp rate of 1C/sec, should I set the thermocycler ramp rate at 20% (1C/sec/5C/sec * 100% = 20% )  ? Or please help me calculate the ramp rate. It is urgent.

Check the user manual, but 20% seems reasonable.
