I extracted total RNA from a PNT2 cell line and ran on an agarose gel. The two major rRNA bands appear in the 1-2kb regions but look blurry and fuzzy. Is this a sign of RNase-contamination, simply overloaded, or is it ready for downstream experiments? Shown on the left side is a 2-log ladder standard.

I don't think that is RNase contamination

It looks that you have RNA degradation and depending of the size of the molecular ladder the top band could be DNA contamination.
