could anyone help sharing a protocol on strains (E.coli or Salmonella) adaptation to Nalidixic acid? the idea is to separate the E.coli strains I am adding (inoculating in food) from the indigenous ones that may be present.
I started gradually until cells were grown in broth supplemented with Na (50microl/ml).It didnt seem to work as other background flora grew as well with my reference strains.
I would like to double check with others who might have been working on this before i keep increasing the Na concentration.
