I am subcloning some inserts into pBABE vector.  I was told by another post-doc that I need to use a special competent cell line.  Anyone have experience with this vector system??  Thanks.

Better do a PubMed search to find out what bacteria others have used for transformation.

  We are using subcloning efficiency chemicaly compotent bacteria 5DH alfa cells from invitrogene.  works fine

chemically competent DH5 alpha, as well as XL-1 blue, which are (our) standard strains work fine in our lab together with pBabe/Puro
