I was wondering if anybody has had experience with extracting yeast (Pichia) RNAs.

I've tried twice with the RNeasy plus kit and using a bead basher to crack open the cells.  I keep getting about 40 ng/uL for a total of about 2 ug of RNA... a bit off from the 25 ug that they say is typical for cerevisiae cultures.  Some of my preps also have poor 260/280 ratios or have high A230 values.

Hopefully it's good enough for RNA-seq because I've already burned through all of my samples.

Are there other kits or methods that are more robust and consistent?
