I was wondering if anyone know what the requirements are for the therapeutic index of antibiotics under development.

I calculate the therapeutic index (TI) of my compounds as IC50/MIC (Lethal concentration at which the viability of eukariotic cells is reduced by 50% divided by the minimal inhibitory concentration against the bacteria). As a result I end up with a (TI) around 100 to 500.

However I was wandering which threshold do pharmaceutical companies hold for antibiotics under development? Does anyone have an idea? I can't find an answer on the net.

All the best,
