Dear Forum members,

I have a basic question but I would like to know if there is any reasons why the metanol/acetic acid mix used for fixation has to be prepared at the moment of use. Isn´t it possible to keep a stock stored at -20ºC for example? Also, I am interested in fixing cells for qFISH. Is this the best choice to fix cells for telomere visualization?

Thanks a lot in advance!

It is possible that there could be some esterification going on (usually requires sulphuric acid though).

No idea about the telomeres.
