Hi can anyone tell me the typical protocol for using animals(mice and rats) to clean infected cell lines?  How sucessful are these clean-ups?  Do I prime the animal before injection of the cell line?

In general these should work well, but you shouldn't attempt them unless these cell lines are absolutely irreplaceable.  It is much easier, cheaper, and better if you can just throw them out and get fresh stocks in.

I don't have a protocol sorry, but there should be one in Culture of Animal Cells by R. I. Freshney
