I was wondering how large of an insert I can put into a viral plasmid?  I plan to put a 7kb insert into a 5.1kb viral plasmid (pBabe-puro).  I'm worried that this large insert won't package correctly.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

I had successful experience of cloning 12kb insert into pGem (3kb). Still think it is not limit.
