My question is: Does 5-TAMRA (5-carboxytetramethylrhodamine) penetrate memebrane of the cells?
I want to use it as a label for a potential cell penetrating protein.
It would let me judge whether my protein penetrates the cell membranes or not.
I will be using the confocal and flow cytometry to assess it.
I plan to use TAMRA itself as a negative control and TAMRA labeled Tat as a positive control.
However, if TAMRA penetrates the cells itself, it is not the best label choice then.
Thank you!
