Dear all,

Can high salt lead to dissociation of EtBr from DNA? how high would it need to be? could GuHCL do it?

It used to be in the old days that after CsCl banding you would extract with Butanol; your average gel extraction kit uses an isopropanol wash on the silica membrane (i think that's sufficient to remove EtBr or am I wrong?)

But could a simple salt wash accomplish this?I doubt it and would appreciate any input.
