so it's about one leading "big" character, a leader or perhaps a fraudster or marriage swindler...
The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald?

:lol:..that was really easy then...you didn't even give Tabs a chance to guess....

that was a bit too easy then Posted Image and some luck...anyway here's the next:

I went with them a couple of times, but I cut it out. In the first place, I certainly don't enjoy seeing him in that crazy cemetery. Surrounded by dead guys and tombstones and all. It wasn't too bad when the sun was out, but twice--twice-- we were there when it started to rain. It was awful. It rained on his lousy tombstone, and it rained on the grass on his stomach.

...except casandra's that belong to the funniest, most interesting and imaginative (or over-imaginative?) ones, I suppose.

Finally the Catcher in the Rye by Salinger !

Il vivait. Il mourut quand il n'eut plus son ange;

Next quote might come later though.... got stuff to do right now

Il vivait. Il mourut quand il n'eut plus son ange;

OK... not english, 20th century:

You don't feel a thing. There's just something missing. And once it gets hold of you, something more is missing every day. Soon there won't be anything left of us.

Il vivait. Il mourut quand il n'eut plus son ange;

Sorry guys, to disturb your elite club here. But if I am not wrong, its just the three of you guessing. 99 pages of three of you. Kudos to your spirit and wish my literary skills were better

Well we had Bob1 guessing here for some time too and it's not an elite club Posted Image Me for instance, I'm horribly bad at guessing literature quotes. And we're always happy to have more guessers, so why don't you join in ? Posted Image
