...except casandra's that belong to the funniest, most interesting and imaginative (or over-imaginative?) ones, I suppose.

The Phantom because it deals with drugs ?

Il dort. Quoique le sort fût pour lui bien étrange,
Il vivait. Il mourut quand il n'eut plus son ange;
La chose simplement d'elle-même arriva,
Comme la nuit se fait lorsque le jour s'en va.

Yup...it's the Phantom and Rufus was the mangy mutt they euthanised with an OD injection of a highly addictive, very expensive drug called "violin" :D....it's quite a good read but I like Snowman more...so who's turn is it now?

...except casandra's that belong to the funniest, most interesting and imaginative (or over-imaginative?) ones, I suppose.

and here it is:

His exhalations, those ochre clouds of sulphur and brimstone, had always given him - when taken together with his pronounced widow's peak
and crow-black hair -- an air more saturnine than haloed, in spite of his archangelic name.

English and no more hints as the quote is full of them

salman rushdie?  it sounds like something from satanic verses.  he's describing gabriel (or however the name is spelt in that book).

oppps...I thought this thread was officially took out of service since nobody replied anymore...tongue.pngblink.png

and now I've to recollect what it was, searching...........................and searching.....................and searching..............and searching.........and...yes finally, you're right it's Rushdie's Satanic Verses.

The question is now if we should continue or not as the interest to write and find something seems low and the books (except the last of course biggrin.png ), not really classic and well known ones anymore (but we already had most of the well known I think).

So please comments

Sorry, I was kind of busy these last days, so I did some searching when you first posted the quote but didn't find anything and then didn't have the time to continue. In my opinion we neither need to "bury" the thread nor enforce quicker answering/posting wink.png it's now v3's turn and she can just post something when she feels like it and we can answer when we have time etc. Or we can post quotes once in a while when we come across something interesting....what do you think about this ? Everyone at her/his pace....
