hi
I want to extract the DNA of a biotrophic fungi from the host tissue, this fungus causes the tissue turn to red.
After DNA extraction I have red pigments in my total DNA. also I have low PCR product, which I think is due to some inhibitors (probably the pigmets). how can I remove them?

Which of the many DNA extraction protocols are you using? How does the DNA look on a gel and a spec?
Have you tried diluting your template for the PCR? How big a product are you generating? Is the sequence GC rich? Any other details you can think of that might help...
