My question is a bit basic, but ....
When making cDNA library mRNA is used.  Based on cDNA synthesis kits 20-30 E. coli colonies need to be checked in order to obtain most of cDNA library.  Does it mean that mRNA contains more than one gene so ds cDNA in a single vector is able to encode for more than one protein OR is E. coli able to take in more than one plasmid containing cDNA encoding for a single protein?  Or is there something else I did not even consider?

Thanks on advance
