Ah! I see. Darn. 9g/100 mL puts my concentration at 9%. Per my calculations, I need to prepare 20%.
So, the calculations that I did above need to be adjusted from 20% to 9% correct?

I went ahead and add 50 mL of DI water to the solution to dilute it down, and it all dissolved. Does this mean that my solution is still 10% concentration? Or given the solubility, is it actually at 9% concentration?

You added 50ml to what?
WHat is your endvolume now?
10grams in 100ml or?
If you don't know it, then ask it! Better to ask and look foolish to some then not ask and stay stupid.

But not if only 9g are soluble in 100 mL....at room temperature there should be a precipitate visible of the remaining gram.

I am assuming he was able to dissolve it completely.
But indeed, you are right, is there is precipitation then its not 10% rather 9%
