I'm running an alignment of multiple sequences in ClustalX. All I want is to copy a consensus sequence that I can use to design a primer set with. This might be a simple question, but where is the consensus sequence? All I see are the alignments of my 17 sequences. None of the program menus have an option for showing a consensus. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated- Thanks!

I use Unipro UGENE. It had integrated ClustalW function (same algorithm as ClustalX, if I remember correctly) and you can easily export your consensus from there.
There are lots of web tutorial, or you can always ask in the forum or PM me and I do my best to help.
All the best.
