Hello,

I need to cultivate monocyte-derived-macrophages (MDMs) from an immortalized monocytic cell line, and I have never done this before so I am a little "green." Upon differentiation of the monocytes into MDMs, my understanding is that the cells undergo various morphological changes that are indicative of proper differentiation into MDMs. What are those changes? I gather cell adhesion to substrate (culture flask), transition from round to irregular cell shape, and the formation of large mutlinuclear cells (syncytial cells) are what I should look for--is that correct?
