We have been running our PCR products in 1.2% agarose gels in 1XTAE buffer using post-stain SYBR gold. SYBR gold is supposed to be higher in sensitivity for detection; however, we have been experiencing a lot of problems with visualizing clear bands. The bands come out extremely blurry, including the DNA ladders. I have contacted the company for SYBR gold and have had no good luck. Has anyone else experienced this? Can anyone give me advice?
Thank you.
