Strange Bands

Hi,

When I extracted my RNA from mouse liver I treated it with DNAse 1 from Ambion and I ran a gel after the extraction. It showed the normal RNA bands but also a band which is 10kb. I wonder is that genomics DNA?

No, genomic DNA will appear much larger than 10 kbp, and will appear as a smear not a band.

Even to the bacteria, the genomics DNA is much larger than 10Kb, let alone the genomic DNA of animals
