Hi all,

Just wondering whether someone has any experience using 293 SFM II medium for growing HEK293 on suspension. I'm planning to use this medium, and when I read the manual, it says that the cells need to be incubated in 37C incubator with 8% CO2. Will it be a problem if I grow the cells in 5%CO2?

Thanks

The CO2 concentration influences the pH of the medium based on the buffering capacity (usually based on Bicarbonate or HEPES).  You could probably get away with 5% but you might (should) find that the medium is running slightly basic.
