I am looking to purchase DG44 cells because these are the cells that I see appear in the literature most often for transient transfection and recombinant protein production for commercial uses. I know that DG44 cells are dhfr- mutants, but the only vendor I see refer to their cells as DG44 is at Invitrogen. All other cell line vendors just refer to them as CHO dhfr-. Is there an actual difference do you think between cells designated DG44 and those designated CHO dhfr-? Thanks!
