Considering your DNA fingerprinting question, I assume you're talking about genomic DNA from eukayote tissue/cells. There are some kits available. I use the DNeasy Tissue kit from QIAgen for the isolation of eukaryotic DNA out of rodents tails and tissue, animal cell lines/ single cell cultures, human DNA....Works fine for me.
