i came to read this article, and thought of sharing it with you ...

" Given that there are so many ways to do PCR, it occurs to us that much of what we recognize as codified PCR “truths” may be not be true at all or they may have been rendered obsolete as a consequence of two decades of improvements in equipment and reagents. For this reason we set out to take a basic PCR protocol used in our research labs and to systematically violate both the reaction set up and the amplification conditions."

i believe that PCR is a forgiving technique too!
i have to add, that the target they have chosen in their study has a role too ...
i mean you can't generalise their outcomes ...
