Hi there,

I was wondering what gel percentage would be best to achieve the greatest separation between a protein of 24 kDa and GAPDH (36 kDa), since I subsequently wanted to cut the PVDF membrane in between. I don't have any beta-Actin antibodies right now.

you should get adequate separation with a 10 or 12% gel. test run with standards to ensure that you will get the resolution you require.

you can use pre-cast gradiant gel.

I have used Precise Protein Gels, 4-20%, 10-Well Cat#25204.

They are easy to use and quick and perfect.

They sell this pre-cast gel in three different well capacity. 25ul, 30ul and 50ul.

Babak
should not use a gradient that long if you want to separate 24 and 36kDa with enough distance to cut apart from the membrane.
