Can urea degrade without heating? I mean can carbamylation of proteins take place without heating the probe?

yes. urea will decompose at room temperature, albeit slowly, even as a solid.

we always deionize with rexyn 300 (mixed bed ion exchanger) to remove decomposition products when we prepare solutions.
