Has anyone worked with Human Skeletal Myoblasts?

From what I have read there aren't any immortalized cell lines available on the market. Which would leave the primary cell lines from Lonza (http://www.lonza.com...scle-cells.aspx) and Invitrogen (http://www.invitroge...-Myoblasts.html).

Since these cell lines are expensive, I was wondering if anyone has had any success with subculturing them and freezing down aliquots for further use? If so, how many passages were you able to get to and still maintain differentiation ability? What media did you use? I.e. manufacturers or something like DMEM with FBS?

On another note, after differentiation, are these cells able to contract like C2C12 myotubes under electrical stimulation?

Thanks in advance!
