Hi All
Ive recently got into doing DNA extractions for genotyping purposes. Ive never sone this before so upon quantifying my DNA i wondered what people class as acceptable 260/280 and 260/230 ratios in DNA, i know what to expect for RNA and wondered whether this was the same.
many thanks, helen

pure DNA must have 260/280~1.8. if your 260/280 is more than 2 you have RNA contamination in your DNA sample.
Google 'Roche LAB FAQs' and download the file. it has a lot of info. pages 9 and 68. you might even have the book in your lab, ask your friends.
