Hi everyone:
I have always heard that the anode buffer (outer chamber in Miniprotean 3) can be reused many times but the cathode buffer (inner chamber) must always be fresh. Is this true? If so, why?

Biorad's? I always use just one tank buffer for Mini Protean 3 and re-use multiple times until it turns cloudy.

because the cathode buffer will be depleted.
