Good day.,

I'm new in genetic analysis, I need help in bioinformatic analysis and prediction of protein 3D structure, step by step   



and here is my question:

1- how to get the 3D structure of the protein

2- if we have the gene sequence , what we can get from it? for ex. we can do phylogenetic tree, 3D structure, and what else?

Try I-tasser for protein 3-D structure.  Note that you can't get the real structure unless you do a crystallization study.

Gene sequence will give you first off protein sequence (but not necessarily 3-D sutructure), intron/exons, phylogenetics, potentially similar function genes, mutations (if there are enough published), maybe siRNA sequences...etc...

You can get existing protein 3D structure from crystalographic studies on Protein DataBank. You would need a program like RasMol or others to move the downloaded model nad manipulate it.
