Hi there,

I usually induce my for protein expression when the OD of my bacteria is 0-4-0.5. Seeing as there was no expression, someone suggested I inudce at a higher OD...such as 0.8-1..why is this...because theres more bacteria at that stage??...

I would assume so... More bacteria = more protein. Purity could be affected however, as you may have more "dead" protein in the yield. I grow them until 0.8 OD and then induce with IPTG. You could also increase the IPTG concentration and extend the incubation time after induction.
