Hi!
Currently, i have a gene of interest that is in a pET22b vector that i use for protein purification with a BL21 e.coli system.
However, now i want to introduce that gene of interest into another strain of E.coli that is typically used for antibacterial activity. I want the gene of interest to be natively expressed by the bacteria.
But since the strain of e.coli i want to use does not rely on the T7 expression system (and consequently IPTG induction), i need to find a different vector that will promote native bacterial expression and give a basal amount that i can use for an antibacterial assay.
Does something like that exist? Bacteria regularly exchange plasmids through horizontal transfer, so there much be a plasmid that i can exploit to make bacteria express a protein that i want.
Many thanks!
