Hi,
Am looking for very specific marker for Vascular smooth muscle cell marker.
I used Anti-alpha smooth muscle Actin antibody do any one know other than this.
I will really appreciate your comments,

I don't think that alpha actin is specific to smooth muscle, just that it is more abundant in smooth muscle than in other cell types.

Yes last time i used enodthelial cells as negative control for immunostating , along with Smooth muscle cells, but i saw week and positive expression in endothelial cells.
ie what am looking for very specific marker for Smooth muscle cells.
And i checked all company website to know how they are charaterising the smooth muscle cells most of them are using the same Anti-alpha smooth muscle Actin antibody.

It seems that there is no one marker for smooth muscle, you may have to use more than one. One paper I found recommended SMα-actin, SMC myosin heavy chain (SM-MHC), Calponin, SM22α, and H-caldesmon.
