Dear all,

this is my first post on the Forum. I am a master student and I'm trying to clone a 1,2Kb fragment into a 1,9Kb vector. I digested the vector with EcoRI and I want to treat it with SAP to avoid self-ligation. I checked our freezer and I found a Fermentas SAP that, unfortunately has expired. The expiring date is Nov 2007. I think that no one used the enzyme, so it stayed at -20°C for all the time. I would like to have an advice from you: can I use that enzyme again? This could seem a stupid question, but you should know that I am not in my own lab doing this experiment, so it would be difficult for me to ask to re-order new expensive enzymes.

Thank you to every reply

Emanuele
