This is RNA isolated from a mouse, bone tumor using TRIZOL and a homogeniser. Followed by a cholorform layer extraction.
I have a weird bioanalyzer profile (attached). There is a peak just after the marker. Is this 5S RNA or heavily digested RNA?
If it is 5S RNA, what causes such a large amount to be present in the sampe? I assume it should have a similar ratio to 28S rNA.
If it is heavily digested RNA what causes this?
A clean up column fixes this, however I am wondering how it may have affected my sample?
Cheers,
Alay
