Hello, as a part of my work, in isolating crude extracts from seeds, I have extracted the extarct first with ethyl alochol and water (1:1.5).

then I had washed the fraction with ethyl acetate. I got two fractions, in a separating funnel.

My question is, I need to find out which fraction could be ethyl alcohol frcation, and which one is ethyl acetate fraction.

Hola, as far as I understand you have two fractions and doesn´t know which is each one. Passing your hand by the top of opened funnel and smalling it you could diference between concentrated etyl acetate and diluted ethanol. Buena suerte
