Hello,
I am reading a paper that says the diffusion coefficient of proteins in the nucleus is 10-100 um2/sec (micrometers squared/second). Why is this in units of area/second (um raised to second power) instead of volume (um raised to third power)? This are 3d molecules that can diffuse in any direction.
Thanks
Molecular diffusion units, can't make sense of them
