Dear all,
is it possible to use a lentviral vector (3rd generation with a chimeric 5'ltr from hiv/rsv) in a retrovirus producer cell line like phoenix or Plat-E
Phoenix and Plat-E have gag, pol and enc stabla in their genome...
Thanks, Stefan

Just telling you what I was told when I asked the same question: "Retrovirus produces cell lines are only for retrovirus. For lentivirus you need to introduce your packaging plasmids"
Actually if you check you will find the discussion about the very same topic
