We have been using histomount to mount stained sections..... however, the lid has become stuck shut! Does anyone know of any way to open it or is the whole bottle lost now?

I've never had this problem, but my guess would be to use some xylene to dissolve the solidified mounting media

heat the top of the bottle a bit.
If you don't know it, then ask it! Better to ask and look foolish to some then not ask and stay stupid.
