Hi there
has anyone  tried using syto9 to stain for DNA in gels?
ie, mix some syto 9 to your PCR rxn, incubate for 5 mins, load on to gel

Does it actually bind to the DNA or is it intercalated (similar to EtBr and Sybr)?  If it actually binds, it should be OK; otherwise you would need to check whether it will migrate in the same direction as the DNA on a gel.
